As far as protective clothing goes, you can’t do much better than Adam Harvey’s Stealth Wear. The New York-based artist has designed an anti-surveillance clothing line from sophisticated fabrics that promises to thwart cell tracking and drones. You can see and purchase these must-have items at Primitive/ Tank Magazine HQ in London till the end of this month. In privacy we trust!
The line was made in collaboration with fashion designer Johanna Bloomfield, and includes the Anti-drone hoodie and Anti-drone scarf, designed to thwart thermal imaging, a technology used widely by UAVs; the XX-shirt – an x-ray shielding print in the shape of a heart, that protects your heart from x-ray radiation or the Off Pocket, an anti-phone accessory that allows you to instantly zero out your phone’s signal.
Accompanying each project are videos and tests revealing the process behind each technology and counter technology.
Harvey’s past projects took similar stand against the rise of surveillance technologies: CV Dazzle explored how face-painting and hair-styling could be used to confuse face recognition cameras, and celebrities sure as hell look forward to Camoflash, a patent-pending, currently in development, anti-paparazzi fashion accessory capable of ditching attacks from flash cameras.
