Don’t miss Isaac Cordal‘s solo show “Prestige” @ Harlan Levey Projects in Brussels. 600 kilo of cement … a cast mattress … a metaphor for what happens in Spain and across Europe … more bank bailouts parallel to more people sleeping/living rough. Most visitors don’t get that its’ not a real mattress til you tell them. Beautiful and very strong.

Excerpt from the press release: There is no authority without Prestige even once it’s sunk. Tens years after The Prestige polluted more than 1000 beaches, Isaac Cordal (Spain, 1974) presents new works and a full look at his project, ‘Cement Eclipses: Small Interventions in the Big City.’

The exhibition runs till December 16th. More photos available through Cristovao Verstraeten.
