It’s the time of the year for Cologne & Brussels art fairs. 46th edition of Art Cologne opens its door today @ 5pm. The rumor has it that this once prestigious, but in recent years less interesting, fair is moving back up the ranks again, so should be worth a visit! Consult the online catalogue for list of exhibitors & artists’ preview. Dates & opening times of the fair are April 18th – 22nd.
For the first time the fair organizers will co-operate with the New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) in premiering the first European NADA fair. The New Positions section of the fair (giving young artists free exhibition space located right next to the stands of the galleries representing them) will showcase 23 young artists, focusing mainly on installation. The New Contemporaries selection will include, amongst others, Berlin’s PSM Gallery, Aanant & Zoo and Croy Nielsen and London’s Paradise Row and Bischoff/Weiss. The fair will also host special exhibition dedicated to Swiss/Icelandic artist Dieter Roth at the South entrance to the Koelnmesse.
