Although we couldn’t find a lot of information about the solo of Zane Mellupe at ifa gallery, seeing couple of photos already made us feel it’s a show worth seeing… if only we were in Shanghai!
It is the artist’s first solo presentation in China and it is featuring mixed media photography and installation works. Mellupe grew up in Latvia and claims that the totalitarian regime during her childhood has led her to be skeptical about authority of any form. Her quote from press release pushes even one step further: “Sometimes, I wonder whether more damage is caused by a totalitarian regime or by a family.”
