showtime: dan colen @ gagosian
we have to admit, we really love the work of dan colen – so much that we bought the holy shit t-shirt @ skin fruit ;-). too bad we will miss his ny show ‘poetry’ @ gagosian. but thanks to art observed u can read this great review of it, written by patrick meagher of the silvershed.
showtime: olek @ christopher henry gallery
don’t miss “knitting is for pus****“, a solo of polish artist olek @ christopher henry gallery, nyc.
during our last visit to ny, we have already admired olek’s crocheted bike @ the lower east side, without actually knowing who the author was. but now olek has acquired some well-deserved fame (check out the latest damn mag who features a cool article about her) with her splendid pieces. for the exhibition @ c henry, she trasformed the ground floor of the gallery into a miniature apartment, inside which she crocheted every single element.
(brought to our attention by geoffrey, who himself was briefly transformed to an artwork by olek :-). read all about it on according to g!!)

maurizio cattelan: l.o.v.e.
ab fab: new sculpture by maurizio cattelan, strategically placed in front of the milan stock exchange, has been unveiled today! asked about the meaning of the work, cattelan said it was “mainly about imagination”, and more an act of love than a comment on the financial world.
the sculpture will remain on display in front of the stock exchange until 3rd october 2010.
l.o.v.e. it!!!
